Tips for Writing and Publishing Your Own Book:
Just start writing. Don’t get hung on up the sequence of events, or how believable a character might be, or what kind of ending you want to story to have. Those details will naturally work themselves out as you work. Just allow the idea to take form on paper first.
Change up your writing environment. Go to locations that inspire you, such as libraries, interesting coffee shops, or college campuses. Find a place that works for you and then plug into your favorite soundtrack and get to it!
Don’t spend a lot of money trying to make money. If you’re working at a coffee shop, order drip coffee instead of expensive lattes. Libraries have free parking, or take the bus to a college campus to work. Minimize your spending while investing in the creative process because, remember, this is a move towards additional income. It shouldn’t be an outrageous expense.

Known your audience, promote cheaply. There are many options for advertising including Facebook, Instagram, and Google AdWords. But, consider first, using your already existing network. Open a GoodReads account and recommend the book to others in their reading groups. Offer free copies to a book club to review. Leave copies in Lending Libraries. If you do spend money on advertising, remember to include it in your annual taxes to gain benefits from.
